[Local Qtum - Setup Issue] not able to set up Qtum development environment on mac air
-
Hi, we have been following this URL for setting up Qtum local development environment:
https://steemit.com/qtum/@cryptominder/qtum-blockchain-development-environment-setup
after successfully created docker bridge network and pulled down cryptoreminder/qtum docker image, we CAN NOT find /home/qtum are we missing anything ? or some additional steps needed ?/home/qtum is this a directory needs to be created manually or by qtum install somehow ?
thanks for assists !

-
@skyline-team hello, friends - I am not the only one trying to run 3 nodes qtum in regtest mode on mac air, am I ? :)
-
@cryptominder hi, expert - can you help ? we just tried again with the steps you mentioned, stuck in the same place, after pulling docker images, not seeing "/home/qtum" on mac and mac air.
thanks !
-
@cryptominder hi, when you back on line - would appreciate you can throw some hints here, we really like to get this 3 nodes local regtest environments up and running - as of now still no luck, thanks much !
-
hi, guys, can someone take a look at this ? it'll be great to setup a local running Qtum regtest environments with 3 nodes running as mentioned in this URL - if we can get this working.
thanks much !
-
hey, any suggestions ?
-
Will forward this to the appropriate team members today, sorry there hasn't been a response yet...
-
@frankrbruno thank you ! I have tried the same couple of times today, not able to get it through - same issues as mentioned above.
all we looking for is to set up these 3 nodes environment on a single machine for some development tasks.
thanks again !
-
I know you can run one on the machine itself, then you can download Ubuntu and run another.... the third I'm not sure....
-
thanks, Frank !
this 3 nodes setup link above is great - if we can get it working :)
for what you mentioned, to run one on the machine itself, and download Ubuntu for running 2nd one, do you have a documented link that we can follow ?
I am trying to get the 2 nodes running on 2 VM(s) in cloud.
thanks much !

Not really , you iterally install Ubuntu, then yoy go to qithub and install the Linux version of the Qtum wallet... you can Google how to install Ubuntu, there are many YouTube videos on how to install it...
-
wow - have to google it ?
thanks, Frank.
-
If you are not capable of installing Ubuntu then yes, I would suggest googling a YouTube video that shows you how (I'm not going not explain it because it is easier just to watch a video). After you install Ubuntu then you can go to gith hub and download the Linux version of the Qtum Wallet onto Ubuntu... Most people only run one wallet to a computer so this isnt something everybody does...

thanks again, Frank.
Our exercise here is to get QTUM running on one of our linux host / VM in cloud, isn't this a common thing that other people does too when using QTUM ?
thanks much again !
